Sinkhole Opens Up, Closing Roads In Central Pennsylvania

A sinkhole has opened up closing a major roadway in Lititz, authorities say.

The Lititz Borough Public Works is repairing the sinkhole which was discovered on Wednesday, Dec. 7 around 7:00 a.m., according to a release by the area police.

The hole is on Raspberry Lane near the intersection of East Orange Street. 

Raspberry Lane has been closed from East Orange Street to Lock-up Lane. 

"Please use caution when traveling in the area due to crews working in or near roadways," the police say. 

There is no word on how long the closure will remain in effect.

East Orange Street remains open.
